THERE MUST BE SOMETHING
Behind the closed eyes
Within the clenched fist
There must be something
That we have missed.
Something substantial
Something that's strong
There must be something
To move us along.
Ringing in ears
Caught in the throat
There must be something
To calm those tears.
Perhaps it's a song
Maybe even a prayer
But I know there's something
To move us along.
To move us along
A new road of peace
There must be something
So that violence will cease.

WHEN CHILDREN PLAY
WHEN CHILDREN PLAY
When children play the heart is light
The whole world swells with pure delight
God smiles upon us, dries the tear
And wipes away all trace of fear
As Joy with the soul ignites.
The toys upon the floor appear
To make all sadness disappear.
It's children's glee we must invite,
When children play.
It may at times seem a bit trite,
But it is more than, "Be polite."
It must remain perfectly clear
That children oft are filled with cheer ...
So could we be, if we held tight ...
When children play.
